David G. Orphanides is a founding partner of Orphanides & Toner, LLP.
David brings a truly exceptional level of expertise in zoning and real estate development.
Since 2005, David has guided over 500 projects through the Philadelphia zoning process. Before entering private practice, David served as assistant solicitor for the City of Philadelphia where he advised the Department of Licenses & Inspections on matters such as code enforcement and claims. Prior to entering private practice, David gained extensive experience in the telecom industry where he handled matters such as site acquisition and development. From 2005 through 2008, David was a partner in the law firm Beller, Stouffer Orphanides LLP and then from 2008 through 2013 was engaged in private practice at David G. Orphanides & Associates, P.C.
Aside from his legal expertise, David has an extensive history of community involvement and local business development. David was on the vanguard of the organic food movement in Philadelphia. He co-founded and was the creator of Philadelphia’s first organic/eco restaurant—Fare—and was a co-founder of the Fairmont recycling program.
David is a graduate of Muhlenberg University and obtained his law degree from George Washington University. David lives in the Southwest Center City neighborhood with his wife and son.
